Ceramic Alumina Balls
Ceramic alumina balls Description Alumina Grinding Media have the advantages of high strength, high stabilities to chemical and thermal circumstances. It can be resistant to acid, alkali, salt and all organic solvents. Being used as a support and a covering material in reactors in oil refinery,...
Description
Ceramic alumina balls
Description
Alumina ceramics have good conductivity, mechanical strength and high temperature resistance. Alumina ceramic is a kind of widely used ceramic. Because of its superior performance, it has been used more and more widely in modern society, meeting the needs of daily use and special performance.
Feature
1. Corrosion resistance, excellent rust resistance and intergranular corrosion resistance;
2. Wear resistance, good mechanical strength and ductility, high hardness, wear resistance and durability;
3. High temperature resistance, the use temperature limit can reach about 600 ℃;
4. Acid and alkali resistance, good corrosion resistance to alkali solution and most organic and inorganic acids;
5. High cost performance, cheaper than zirconia ceramics

Number and Size of the Balls
1.Pregrinding the coarse, hard material with large balls
2. Use of many small balls will increase the fine fraction if the running time is increased
3. A higher mass (spec. weight) of the grinding balls will accelerate the grinding
4. Size of the Grinding Balls
| Type of feed material | Ball diameter |
Hard samples feed particle size<10 mm | 30 mm or 40 mm |
Medium piece size (<5 mm) | 20 mm |
Fine material (0.5 mm) | 10 mm or 5 mm |
Homogenisation of dry or liquid samples | 10 mm |
Homogenisation of viscous samples | 20 mm |
These are just clues: the size of grinding jars and grinding balls should be determined experimentally if necessary.
Other Grinding Media:
Remark: In normal cases, grinding bowls and balls of the same material are used. To shorten the grinding time, grinding bowls and balls with a higher density and correspondingly higher impact energy can be used.
